So it’s the week or so before Christmas and what have I been up to? All kinds of stuff! Last week at work we had our DC Christmas party. It was basically the same as our Thanksgiving party save for this time they had Mexican food catered from a local place in San Antonio. It smelled good and all and I took lots of pics but I dared not eat any for absolute fear of ninja butter and such. (I bring my own food )

They brought some beef empanadas, much like tfp’s curry puffs but Mexicans make them hahaha.

There was beef and chicken fajita meat, tortillas, borracho beans and rice, all the fixins for nomy fajitas. It wasn’t until everyone was in line for food that we began to hear music. At first I thought it was someone being funny due to the Mexican food, I was so excited to see THIS in the hallway at the end of the buffet table:

A full Mariachi band, who played through most of the lunch ahhaha. They were pretty good and played christmas songs and stuff.

This weekend was spent pretty much cleaning up the house and garage. I got all the laundry done really good and Cody and Matt managed to clear up the garage enough to get Cody’s 240 in there! I had to steer it in while they pushed haha. We had to get it moved inside before Cody leaves on his work trip, plus he got a window ticket on it for having a “junk car” sitting in the yard. >_< For Christmas he is getting machine work done to the KA up in East Texas, which means we are bringing components with us to Christmas dinner at Aunt Susan’s. XD

After a busy day of moving cars and such I got up early to make breakfast. The night before I saw pics of TFP’s mini pancakes she is going to make for Christmas breakfast at their house. I thought to myself: “Bah, I don’t need a fancy waffle iron to make tiny pancakes!” So I used a teaspoon measure and blobed them all on the griddle. The hard part about this is that the tiny pancakes cook REALLY FAST so you gotta plop em on and flip em quicks!

Tada! Mini pancakes! They were pretty good, even Isaac ate all of his! That night my throat and cough were getting worse so Cody suggested Pho for dinner, which, I never say no to XD.

I have to work all this week save for Friday. Cody’s parents are coming down Wednesday and we will probably eat dinner Thursday night, they wanna cook a ham. I don’t care what they cook as long as I can have shrimp cocktail. I’ll probably go buy shrimp and cooking components tomorrow when I go to the grocery store. I still have a few folks to buy for tomorrow, I ordered a few things this weekend on amazon which claims they will arrive at the house christmas eve. Lets see how that goes .

In other news we will be going to Mineola for Easter this weekend. Which means I need to get Subie an oil change before we head out. ^_^

Ok so I procrastinated on the update of the blog all weekend due to this party and Fable2 getting in my way ^_^.  That and Cody just found out that our host allows PHP so he is now moving the AustinTuners forum from the ASP.NET fail forum to a new shiny install of PHPbb which is located HERE if you would like to re-join or join up for the first time. (also note that soon this blog will be located at jetgirlart.com and not jetgirl.wordpress.com but that wont be for another week or so ^_^)

Alright on with party. So Cody and Patrick showed up at 5:30pm because they can’t read giant magenta text on the flyer that said everyone was showing up at 7:30pm. So they chilled out until folks showed up. I of course was still in San Marcos at 7:30 because I was making icing and attempting to apply it to the cake I made the night before. About halfway through the  mixing process my mixer began to make that all too famous “im’ overloaded and about to die” smell and just before I could shut it off it did so on its own, I haven’t been able to turn it back on since.  Luckily I have my backup hand-mixer and that fixed the mixing issues.  My only real problem was the humidity in the air caused the icing to become aqueous and simply would not firm up even in the fridge. So at about 7:45 I gave up, piped white icing across the top and orange around the sides to semi-depict a FRAM air filter and loaded it in the floor of the Subie.

I ended up at the shop about 9:00 and everyone was already there and eating so they were ready for cake by the time I got there. Everyone said it was good and a good 75% was eaten of it. ^_^

Overall everyone seemed to have fun and we attempted to clean up as much mess as we could before Cody and I left for San Marcos around 2am. It was fun getting to see people I only have talked to online through the forum and seen but never met.  Ian, Tyler and a few others are renting that shop out so they have space to work on all the cars you see there in the pics, half of which are Ian and Ashley’s. As of right now only one works but I think they got a new turbo for the RB so it should be up and running soon.

I spent all Friday night steam cleaning the carpet in our house. Between spills, food, and teaching Isaac to use a sippycup left a collage of spots and stains all over the place that required far more than a few cans of Resolve. By Saturday morning they were thankfully dry. Cody left that morning for Round Rock to pick up Tyler’s engine and my parents were on their way here from Mineola to pick up Isaac for a week while my mom is on spring break. Once everyone got here we went out to eat at the Irish pub here in town. Pretty good. Had to get a Starbucks afterwards. ^_^

This morning I woke up and made everyone bacon eggs and sausage for breakfast before they headed out with the buddy. I had no intentions of going anywhere today so I chilled at the house while Cody went to see the Watchmen with his brother. They were going to go last night but couldn’t find a showing past 9pm. When he got back we decided to clean up the garage and sort out all the tools, etc.

This was right after we moved the car and swept up all the kitty litter absorber stuff.

This car hasn’t seen the light of day in months…

Here you can see what all is missing, the bumper and fenders are by the fence around the corner keeping the neighbors chickens from coming into our yard. <–not joking.

This gave cody room to set up the engine stuff to get ready to pull the head from the one you see on the stand. My car looks terrified that it may be in a similar circumstance. If its engine blows after the warranty it very well may be. ^_^

In even bigger news Cody and Marks Guesstimator is now live in the app store so all you rich folks with the fancy iPhones need to go drop 3.99 on a download. The more copies of the program sell the faster you’ll see an engine in that 240 up there.

To help out the AustinTuners 24 Hours of Lemons group with their car design I vectored a few models of the 240sx that they will be using in the race. All they have to do is print the page or open in photoshop to design the car as they see fit. Easy peasy.
