Isaac had his third birthday this weekend and all of his cousins and aunts and uncle and friends came!
Now, Isaac’s actual birthday was last weekend but we had to move the party to yesterday to make sure his papa could make it. When I asked him if he wanted a Thomas the tank engine cake or Buzz Lightyear cake he promptly responded BUZZ!!!!! So thus the party suddenly had a Toy Story theme! I decorated the cake the night before and started icing the cupcakes. I really wanted to geek out and make an actual Buzz out of cake but I had some issues with the T-shirts I made for the party so cake making was delayed so a simple Andy’s Bed version was made:
Isaac had a great time at the party, lots of family and a few friends of ours came out to visit and have some lil burgers and hotdogs and chicken wings. Isaac’s favorite part of course was the cupcakes with sourworms in them. He LOVES sour candy. I was concerned earlier in the day because it was storming all night and still muggy and rainy out that morning. However by noon it had cleared up and warmed up to the point it was perfect outside!
He got all kinds of presents for his birthday including some sets of blocks, water toys, and an actual Buzz Lightyear toy. Cody and I got him this Toy Story bike with some of his birthday money!
He is getting the hang of pedaling and should be able to ride it great by this summer. Just means I’ll have to fix up my bike so we can ride around.
I had a small party yesterday afternoon at our house and cooked fried fish and fries for everyone. We had all kinds of snacks and candy and drinks and by the time the party was over around 1am we ended up finally eating it all.
I spent all Friday night making my e30 cake:
I think everyone had a pretty good time hanging out and talking about geeky computer and video game stuff. Ryan and his girlfriend came up Friday night from Houston and stayed the weekend with us. Peter came down from Austin. Jack, Ellen, Clint, and Steven made it to the party and brought me a super cool huge Dell monitor! Jack hooked it up for me so I am now running both the PC and Hackintosh from the same monitors with the ability to switch from one to the other with just a button.
Ryan got me a ultra fun robot pencil sharpener, its a wind up robot that walks. All you do is sharpen a pencil in his chest and it winds up this mechanism that makes him walk around. Its so cute, he is hanging out with my ninja from TFP.
After Jack and Ellen and them left David came by for a bit and we all played Munchkin. The guys had played it tons but this was my first time to do so, pretty fun!
This morning we got up and headed to Austin. Stopped by Jerry’s Artarama for screen print supplies, Cody got some colored Sculpy to make DnD minis. After the art store we stopped by the comic shop and I got issues 2 and 3 of SiP’s first run.
By the time we got out of the comic shop we were starving so we went to the most dangerous place in the world…Whole Foods. I picked up several boxes of soy mac and cheese as well as a few dairy free chocolates. We were starving so we got dinner at the lil food markets within the store:
I got this tuna and avacado roll, cody got a spicy tuna roll and a slice of pizza. We both shared this chicken teriyaki bowl. I was hesatant about the bowl cuz it had brown rice instead of white rice which can be totally gross if not cooked all the way through. This was cooked to magical perfection and we polished off all the food ehhe.
Now were home, about to settle down for the night and watch some TV. I might have a soy mac and cheese ehhehe. Going to see about visiting Mineola during the Labor Day weekend and get Isaac back! Hehehe. I have missed him this MONTH heheh. He has had so much fun going swimming and eating boudin and jambalaya.
Matt signed up for a guitar class at Texas State so we went ahead an got a guitar for my birthday so he will use it for class and stuff. He would just use my old one but it is warped beyond working condition.
So here it is!
Its a Fender electric/acoustic guitar with (thank god) a cutaway body so I can reach the high notes heheh. Cody picked it out at the Guitar store in Austin.
So I know what your wondering, it looks nice but how does it sound? Well ill show you!
Now, NAME THOSE SONGS!
Points to those who know them!
Isaac’s cousin Sydney had her first birthday party today. We left Friday night for Waco and stayed the night at Mammy’s house. I picked up Cody from work and we took his car to Waco to save gas. Plus I’m in need of an oil change and new tires soon driving to West is a bit of a stretch could have been pushing it.
The party was great and Isaac had a great time playing in the pool and getting to have pizza, orange soda, and cupcakes all day.
On the way home my original plan was to stop by a Subaru dealership and pick up a few oil filters and some crush rings. My mom is planning on picking up Isaac later this week and taking him to Mineola for a few days. I figured that would be a great time to change my oil and such as its now a lil over 3k since my first one. Luckily my first change was totally free from the used dealership we got it from. This time tho I’m changing over to synthetic oil. The only bad thing about Subaru is that there is no dealership here in town. The closest ones are in San Antonio and Austin so I either have to drive 45 minutes in either direction to buy 5 dollar OEM oil filters. I can get any filter from whoever but the crush rings I gotta get from a dealership or online as they have to be replaced with every change. Be sure to look forward to the update on that with pics and video.
Sorry this took so long, been super busy lately with family in town, family leaving town, parties, and everything else. This will be short and sweet as there are TONS of pics!
My mom made the cookie cake, and iced it when they got into town!
After lunch we headed over to memaw and gpaw’s house to see his new swingset! He can get up the slide all by himself!
Once the party got started we all ate right away, even after having a big lunch. My mom loves relish ^_^.
He got him his very own Wall-e computer! Thanks Papa!
Eating his cookie cake! He loves cookies!
After the party wound down my mom and aunt and sisters went to their hotel and we took Isaac there to try out his new swimsuit at the pool. He loved the water and wanted so bad to swim all by himself but he is still just too little!!
He had a great party and was glad that everyone came, he was so tired the next day he slept in, took an extra long nap, and went to bed early.
